Lorelei

Lorelei G

Lorelei grew up splitting time between New Mexico and Chicago. Lorelei has had a passion for makeup ever since she was 3 years old when her mother lost her in a Marshall Fields store, only to find her in the makeup department with lipstick smeared all over her face.

In her teen years, Lorelei took every art class possible and developed a fascination with horror movies, special effects and monster makeup. Later, building an interest in fashion, Making Faces by Kevin Aucoin became her new obsession.

After high school, Lorelei she took a class at Columbia College for theater makeup, learning the essentials including old age, beard laying, and makeup for the strong lights while taking freelance jobs in performance and event work.

Wanting to do makeup on a regular basis, Lorelei took a job with MAC at the Michigan Ave Nordstrom, until she decided to make the dream of going to makeup school in Los Angeles a reality.

Attending The Makeup Designory in Burbank CA for Beauty and Character makeup, taught her airbrush, bald caps, injury simulation, and beauty makeup for HD. After which Lorelei worked on shoots and music videos in LA until her move back to Chicago in 2010.

Realizing that hair is also an important skill, Lorelei got her cosmetology license at Don Roberts School of Hair Design, and then participated in a month long program studying under front runner, Ben Mollin from Bravo’s Shear Genius. During her three years working in salons, she continued to take courses in Arrojo razor cutting, was certified in Pure extensions, and worked with lines such as Kevin Murphy and Davines while also working many weddings.

While loving to cut and color hair, Lorelei knew the ever-changing, fast-paced production world is the field she is most passionate about. She most prides herself on being efficient, always keeping a sense of calm and a cheerful demeanor while working in accordance with current OSHA Covid-19 guidelines to ensure the safety and well-being of her clients.
